T.T. 58: new year, clear goals
Building a better balance with what matters most
Hola amigos,
Greetings from DC.
Short post today… and I really do mean short, for once, not 4000 words like my previous post.
This one is under 2000 words!!!
I’m too busy for a detailed “annual review” of 2024.
The main theme of this post is also my main goal for 2025: achieving a better balance across the different areas of my life that matter most.
Let’s dive in.
Topic list:
Brief personal life update
Sales momentum
Buying the dip

Brief personal life update
Last weekend, I went to my cousin’s wedding.
It was really nice. I got to see a lot of family members whom I hadn’t seen since before Covid.
I won’t get into many details, but let’s just say I kinda felt like the “black sheep” during that era… I was one of the few who saw through all of the Covid Regime’s lies from the beginning.
That being said, my family is full of very nice, very intelligent people. Computer science and math PhDs and professors… various kinds of engineers… etc.
One of the reasons why family is so important in life is because those are the people who will still love you and support you, even through difficult times. Those are the people with whom it’s easiest to reconnect, even after drifting apart.
We didn’t talk about our areas of disagreement at the wedding. It was nice catching up and spending quality time together!
It was also a reminder that love and connection are deeply important for a fulfilling life.
My cousin just married his childhood sweetheart. Another cousin announced her pregnancy (I wasn’t invited to that wedding because I didn’t take the Covid vax, but I’m done feeling bitter about it). Two other family members missed this new wedding because they had their own newborn babies in recent months.
We live in absolutely insane times… but continuing to build families regardless is one of the most optimistic and inspiring actions that good people can take to make the world a meaningfully better place.
After college, when I was relatively successful with women, I took a long break from dating during the Covid years. I became pretty cynical about it, especially seeing how Orwell was proven right about women tending to be the most ardent enforcers of tyrannical orthodoxy… not to mention the countless examples of how hookup culture has made modern dating a nightmare.
That being said, just because the odds are against you doesn’t mean that you should give up.
There are still good women out there. There are loyal women, and based women, who actually do share my values.
I intend to find one. I intend to continue becoming the version of myself who is worthy of a queen to help build my “kingdom” (metaphorically). And when we’re ready, I would like to build a family with that queen someday.
So that’s the first category I intend to achieve better balance with in 2025:
Family and relationships.
(Also friendships — I caught up with a few old friends over the holidays — but I’ll leave that for another post)
Sales momentum
The second category I intend to achieve better balance with in 2025 is my career.
I started out in Data Analytics, but became deeply cynical about that industry after seeing how many “professionals” were rewarded for going along with the Covid Regime’s manipulation of data to justify their tyrannical agenda.
I also found that I didn’t really LOVE coding anyway. I’m not lazy, but I was easily distracted from that type of work when I got hired for a fully remote data job in 2021.
One reason I enjoy my new sales job is that it’s entirely in person. The office culture is very positive and high energy. Talking to potential customers face-to-face is interesting and rewarding for a variety of reasons.
I’ve also made it through the hardest part of the year now.
Most people during the holiday season are too busy, distracted, and/or lazy to seriously consider changing their internet provider.
I still managed to maintain average performance through that period. I also overcame my cold streak after taking a few days off to visit El Salvador for the Adopting Bitcoin conference in November.
I was worried I might have a similar cold streak again after taking a few days off to go to my cousin’s wedding… but on my very first day back, despite the challenge of trying to make sales on New Years Eve, I already tied for the most sales of anyone in my office that day.
We just had New Years Day off, but the schedule is going back to normal, and so will customer circumstances now after the holidays.
I intend to lock in and get back to elite performance. My peak so far was ranking 18 out of several hundred sales agents nationwide on a rolling four week total.
I’ve proven that I can do it. The next challenge is sustaining such high performance.
It’s also an accelerated management training program, so over the next year, I intend to build my own team. It’s a cool opportunity to earn well over six figures while also learning about many aspects of growing and running a business.
Buying the dip
My previous post celebrated the fiat price of Bitcoin reaching $106k.
Soon after posting it, the price peaked at $108k before dropping all the way down to $91k… a difference of $17k.
It’s funny. I remember not too long ago when the full price of an entire Bitcoin dropped down to $17k total.
Now some newcomers are panicking because it crashed by that amount… even though 91k is still more than 5 times that former price.
To longtime Bitcoiners, this is nothing new. In fact, it’s actually a phenomenal opportunity.
Bitcoin obviously isn’t going away.
The day I shared that previous post, yet another politician — a member of the European Parliament — proposed yet another Strategic Reserve. More states and corporations continue to increase their interest in Bitcoin as a hedge against inflation.
I had started to worry that I would never have a chance to increase my own personal Strategic Reserve below the fiat price of $100k ever again.
Fortunately, the price almost always drops at the end of the year, as people sell for tax reasons.
We got one last chance before President Trump is inaugurated in a couple of weeks and officially creates a Strategic Bitcoin Reserve for the world’s largest economy.
I’m buying as much as I possibly can.
This isn’t financial advice… but anyone who wants a well balanced portfolio should probably consider buying some as well.
Economía Bitcoin
Speaking of Bitcoin…
I took a step back from the movement in El Salvador to focus on earning more fiat and rebuilding aspects of my old fiat life that I had been neglecting here in my home country.
But my heart is still with the Bitcoin movement in Berlín.
And I’m still gonna stay involved.
I won’t release too many details yet. But our debut conference in El Salvador’s biggest Circular Economy was a huge success last April.
I just spoke with the co-organizer Charlie yesterday.
Get ready for Round 2.
Stay tuned for more details!
Staying healthy
A pattern that I’ve noticed over the past several years is that my performance is best when I’m living a healthy lifestyle.
When I took the full year of 2023 off from drinking, I found clear direction. I successfully built an audience on Twitter, spoke to hundreds of thousands of people on Spaces, and indirectly reached hundreds of thousands (maybe a million) more through podcast episodes that I helped arrange.
In 2024, I still achieved a lot. But I started drinking again, and despite not being an alcoholic, I do feel like it held me back in certain ways.
Perhaps more significantly than substances, I probably was addicted to doomscrolling on Twitter, and worrying about all of the world’s biggest problems.
My ambitions for 2025 are significant. I intend to master sales, grow a sales team, AND co-organize a conference again in another country.
All of that is attainable.
I know that I can do all of it.
But in order to actually pull it off, I need to be clear-headed and performing at peak levels consistently.
With that in mind, I decided to go sober again for the year of 2025.
Clear mind. Clean lifestyle.
Time to lock in and crush these goals.
Podcasts to ACTION
I’ve listened to hundreds — maybe thousands — of podcasts over the past few years.
Some are just frivolous entertainment. Others are highly informative. But two stand apart as having the most positive impact on my actual life.
The one I listened to most in 2023:
James Clear on the Tim Ferriss Show
I’ve written about this one before.
The quintessential author about habits and the quintessential author/podcaster on elite performance optimization.
It’s an absolute masterclass.
I’ve listened to it probably 50 times total. It played a huge role in my ability to grow an audience of thousands of people on Twitter, reaching hundreds of thousands of people total.
I just listened to it again, and it still holds up.
The one I listened to most in 2024:
Alex Hormozi sales compilation
When I first started my new sales job, I put the audio version of this on repeat. I’ve listened all the way through (at 1.75x speed) about ten times total.
Four hours and forty three minutes of the very best tips from a guy who started in sales and built a net worth well over $100 million.
By essentially brainwashing myself with these tips, I quickly went from a complete novice to ranking 18 out of several hundred sales agents nationwide in my business.
If you’re interested in sales, it’s worth checking out.
Final thoughts:
In case that last section of this post didn’t make it clear… one of my most defining traits is the ability to get absolutely obsessed with certain topics.
When I set my mind to something, I’m willing to set aside everything else and make it happen.
That can be very good, but it can also be very bad. It all depends on what I choose to set my mind toward.
In 2025, I intend to avoid negativity and distractions completely outside of my control.
(You may notice that I hardly mentioned politics in this post, despite the very interesting debate around H-1B visas, immigration, Elon demonetizing dissidents on X, etc)
Instead, I’m going to channel that obsessive personality toward constructive topics within domains that I can actually influence for positive outcomes.
And I intend to develop sustainable habits and systems to achieve much better balance across the most fulfilling aspects of my life.
We’ll see how it goes.
I’ll keep you posted…
And I’m tentatively very optimistic. Time to lock in and make this the best year of my life yet!
