T.T. 30: to Avoid the Beginnings of Evil?
War, community, information flows, and atomic conditions for scalable outcomes
Hola amigos,
Greetings from El Zonte.
No, not that one.
I’m still here in El Salvador!
But I finished my two full months in El Zonte for now.
Onto the new big frontier.
I’ll talk about that more in another post on my other Substack soon:
The world went insane this week.
More insane than usual… even by modern Fiat Clown World standards!
Holy War.
“Paraglider 9/11”
Open calls for genocide.
How the fu*k did it come to this???
“It is best to avoid the beginnings of evil.”
Henry David Thoreau
I’m NOT a geopolitical expert.
This situation on the Gaza border is both horrific and ridiculously complex.
It involves at least two religions and ethnicities whose mutual hostility extends back across many decades — arguably centuries or even millenia — of context.
Most sources are heavily biased one way or the other.
I’m not taking sides.
I’ve met Jews who are wonderful human beings.
I’ve met Muslims who are wonderful human beings.
I’ve never been to Israel.
I’ve never been to Gaza.
The war itself is NOT my focus here.
Seemingly very unrelated tangent:
I’m a big believer in The Process.
In my college years at the University of Alabama (full ride National Merit Finalist scholarship), our football team won two national championships.
Five national championships total within an overall nine year span.
This dynasty — a completely unprecedented degree of dominance — was possible because we had the greatest college football coach of all time.
Nick Saban, famous for his “Trust The Process” philosophy.
The essence of it is simple:
To win 5 championships in 9 years, do NOT focus on the championship itself.
Do NOT focus on the OUTPUTS.
Focus on the INPUTS.
One step at a time.
One day. One workout. One game. One play.
One player. One role. One team.
Know your context.
Know your responsibilities.
Execute, execute, execute with discipline in each moment.
And don’t repeat mistakes.
But how is this relevant?
What does it have to do with Israel and Palestine?
War is NOT a game.
That’s DEFINITELY NOT my point here.
And it’s not about winning or losing either.
It’s about CONTEXT.
REPEATED CONTEXT.
I have eight minutes left until midnight.
This war isn’t going away, sadly.
I’ll elaborate more in future posts.
For now, I’ll just share the link to two of my relevant previous posts:
Final thoughts:
Your context shapes your actions.
Your actions add up to become your behavior.
Your behavior adds up to become your character.
Live deliberately.
Pursue a context that will naturally lead to your desired outcomes.
Things can go VERY wrong if you leave it to chance.

Peace, amigos.
Adios until next week!

Mildly amusing tangent:

^ I stumbled on this New Yorker article from 2015 about Thoreau when I googled the quote image for this article.
It's both insightful and hilariously r3tarded Fiat Brain simultaneously.
At some point I might have to do an entire post just replying to each paragraph, because it has so many lines -- both the good and the ridiculous -- that are worth unpacking.
